Who we are

Mission Statement

We the members of First Presbyterian Church of Ogden, Utah, acknowledge and accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. We confirm that we must serve as His body in and to the world, teach and preach His Word, minister to the needs of people, and baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We find love, acceptance, and forgiveness in the body of Christ, and we strive to promote fellowship, peace, and justice.

In order to accomplish this plan, we shall do the following:

1. Provide a comprehensive Christian Education program for persons of all ages to enhance their knowledge and understanding of God and Jesus Christ. (Christian Education)

2. Gather to worship and glorify God through music, the proclamation of the Gospel, and the celebration of God's Grace. (Worship and Celebration)

3. Identify human and spiritual needs of local, national, and world-wide communities, and provide support to help meet these needs. (Outreach/Mission)

4. Promote opportunities for members to know and care for one another. (Member Care)

5. Call the community to join and follow Jesus Christ, declaring the joy of our faith by word and deed. (Evangelism)

6. Contribute our skills, talents, and financial resources to further God's work and purpose. (Stewardship and Resources)

7. Use and maintain church facilities in a manner that honors Jesus Christ and supports our mission within the community. (Building and Grounds)

8. Recruit leaders who can inspire others to live in Christian fellowship by virtue of their belief, training, and example. (Leadership and Administration)
